The Sahuarita Middle School Art Program includes a 6th grade introductory course where theoretical principles and a general overview of art history is covered.
Beginning in the 7th grade, students combine the fundamental concepts of spacial design, perspective, form and craft. They develop their proficiency through designated projects. These projects are taught by Cindy Conant.
The 8th grade art class enables the students to use the concepts introduced in the 6th and 7th grade in a sophisticated way. More emphasis is placed on the creative process and the projects are less rigid than before to allow for more individualism.
The following artwork is from Fall 1997. It contains a selection of student artwork, as it would be impossible to include artwork from every student. Please e-mail your comments and suggestions. Thank you.
