The Middle School Art Progarm includes a 6th grade introductory course taught by Nancy Burch where basic design principles are learned and practiced and visual art related vocabulary is introduced.

Beginning in the 7th grade, students combine the fundamental concepts of spacial design, perspective, form and craft. They develop their proficiency through designated projects. The 8th grade art class enables the students to use the concepts introduced in the 6th and 7th grade in a more sophisticated way. More emphasis is placed on the creative process and the projects are less structured than in the 6th and 7th grade art classes to allow for more individualism, color variation and creativity. Both the 7th and 8th grade art classes are taught by Cindy Conant. We hope you enjoy these samples of student artwork. We value your opinions and would appreciate your comments.
